Heal From the Inside Out

Infrared saunas are an effective tool for natural healing and prevention. Infrared light has the ability to penetrate human tissue which in turn produces a host of anti-aging health benefits, making infrared saunas one of the "hottest" therapies for overall healthier living. If you want to get yourself back into balance, an infrared sauna may be the ticket to achieving your wellness goals.

Infrared wavelengths are the invisible part of the sun’s spectrum consisting of near (NIR), mid (MIR) and far (FIR) rays.  These rays have the ability to penetrate human tissue.  This characteristic makes infrared beneficial because it heats the body directly at the core rather than simply warming the air resulting in a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where the majority of toxins reside.

Infrared heat is completely safe and healthy for all living things.  You can be exposed to infrared light for hours without the risk of burning.  Infrared is a naturally occurring output of the sun, but does not contain the harmful UV rays associated with unprotected sunlight.  In fact, infrared’s gentle heat is used in hospitals to warm newborn infants.

Benefits of Infrared Sauna Therapy

Frequently Asked Questions

1.  How does it work?

Infrared Saunas heat the body through light waves and by increasing the temperature of the ambient air inside the sauna. Infrared light waves are effective at penetrating tissues and promoting perspiration. Sitting in a sauna for even 30 minutes can raise your heart rate and has shown to induce health benefits similar to cardiovascular exercise. Your time in a sauna can be a relaxing experience where you can unwind and disconnect from your day.

2. What do I wear?

To enable infrared to penetrate tissues as deep as possible, we recommend wearing as little as possible. A towel, swimsuit or birthday suit are perfect options.  The room is private and will be locked.  A towel will be provided for you to sit on.

3.  How long is a session?

We offer 30 and 45-minute sessions. If it is your first time, we recommend starting with a 30 minute session and maybe working your way up (although 30 minutes is quite effective).  Your sweating and detoxification continues after you get out of the sauna for about 30 to 60-minutes, so it is not recommended that you shower right away as it will shorten the benefits of the detoxification process.  We do offer towel service and other items to freshen up after your session.

4. How often should I use the sauna?

One session will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.  But similar to exercise, the more you do it, the better the results.  Recommended use is 3-4 times per week for 30-40 minutes.

5. When will I start sweating?

Sweat levels differentiate between each individual.  Don't be surprised if you don't sweat during the first few sessions.  Sweating will increase with regular use.  Even if your body is not drenched in sweat, your body is still detoxifying from harmful toxins.  Also, be sure to drink plenty of water before your session.  If you are dehydrated, you will not sweat as much.

6. Are there any studies on infrared therapy?

There are various studies on the use of infrared for a multitude of health benefits.  Specifically, Sunlighten infrared saunas have been shown to increase core temperature for detoxification, lower blood pressure, relieve pain and aid in weight loss.  These studies can be found on www.sunlighten.com

7.  Is the infrared sauna safe for everyone?

The Infrared Sauna is very safe. Our infrared heating technology does not include any harmful UV rays. Our sauna has the lowest (EMF) electric and magnetic fields, and (ELF) extremely low frequency available on the market, bar none.

There are cases where we advise against using the sauna. Since the infrared sauna promotes the body’s detoxification properties, it cannot be used during pregnancy or with people undergoing chemotherapy.

*If you are under the care of a physician for a serious medical condition, you should consult with your doctor before using the sauna.

8. Is it ok to use the sauna while breastfeeding?

Please consult with your physician, as this answer is usually yes, but may be no depending upon you specific circumstances.

9.  What is the difference between infrared and traditional saunas?

Infrared heat is very gentle. The experience is similar to lying in the sun on a warm day. Unlike traditional saunas, (hot rock or steam) which operate at well in excess of 200°F. Infrared heat, has the benefit of being effective at a more comfortable operating temperature of 100°-150°F.

The temperatures reached in traditional saunas are extremely high and it is recommended that the session be no longer that 15 minutes.

10.  How is the sauna disinfected between clients?

Safety and cleanliness of the sauna is our number 1 priority.  We use Benefect Decon 30 which is a proprietary blend of essential oils including thyme, lemongrass and oregano.  This is the first and only certified authentic botanical disinfectant that kills 99.9% of germs including the coronavirus.

NOTE: Sauna use is at your own risk*
